Here is the almost finished stairs. The treads are made of a 12 x 14 tile with a bullnose edge and the risers are made up of the tile that we installed in the living room and at the top of the stairs. After we grouted the stairs and the black iron hand rail was reinstalled, it had a Mediterranean feel to it. Very nice and very functional. No more carpet to clean or vacuum.
We are starting to prep another stair case. Notice the paint on either side of the treads. When the house was originally built, the carpet was only installed in the middle. When we started this job, both the treads and the risers were carpeted.
